My goal as an artist is to create work that speaks not only to me, but to others about the beauty that surrounds us when we take the time to look.
My paintings start with personal photography. I then search the photograph to find interesting colors, shapes and patterns. Color is the most important element I am looking for when choosing a section to paint. I am drawn to oils for their ease of blending and richness of color. My painted images may be “real” but sometimes slide into abstraction based on what parts of the photograph speak to me the loudest.
Currently I study at the Art Students League of Denver.
